Carol Ann Morris

Carol Ann Morris was home.

Home was the warmth of her smile, the comfort of her presence, the sound of laughter around her table, and the certainty that no matter what was happening in life, you were always welcome. To her family, friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to know her, Carol was home.

Carol was born on August 24, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to Jack and JoAnn DeLozier. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Oklahoma, where Tulsa became her hometown. There she formed lifelong friendships that remained dear to her heart throughout her life.

On Valentine's Day in 1971, Carol went on a blind date with a young man named Rick Morris. What began as a chance meeting became a lifelong love story. They were married on March 25, 1972, and spent more than fifty years building a life rooted in love, faith, family, and friendship.

Carol's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She was the devoted mother of three daughters, who were truly the light of her life. She poured her heart into her family, serving as Brownie leader, room mom, cheerleader, chauffeur, volunteer, and enthusiastic participant in every field trip, school event, and milestone. She was the organizer, the encourager, the problem solver, and the heart of the household.

As her family grew, Carol welcomed three sons-in-law and seven grandchildren with the same unconditional love she gave so freely to everyone around her. The Morris home became the gathering place—the place where holidays were celebrated, milestones were shared, and everyday moments became cherished memories. It was the place people returned to, and Carol was the reason why.

No one ever felt like a stranger around Carol. Whether you called her Miss Carol, Mama Carol, Mama C, or Carol Bob, you knew you were cared for. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her door was always open, her kitchen was always welcoming, and her heart always had room for one more.

Carol's faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and sought to reflect His love in the way she cared for others. She found joy and fellowship through Bible studies, cherished her book club friendships, and was a source of encouragement and wisdom to many. Her faith was not just something she believed—it was something she lived every day through kindness, generosity, and grace.

Even as ALS challenged her in her final chapter, Carol met it with the same strength, dignity, and faith that defined her life. Though the disease moved quickly, her courage never wavered.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Morris; her brother, Matt DeLozier (Nancy); her daughters, Carol Austin (Brian), Stacey Childers (Bobby), and Kelly Tyrrell (Tyler); her grandchildren, Trevor Austin (Arielle), Kelsi Torno (Jordan), Tristan Tyrrell, Lane Tyrrell, Carter Childers, Harper Childers, and Jackson Childers; and a great-granddaughter, Zoey Torno, expected in September. Though they wish she could have met her newest great-grandchild, they know her love will be part of that little girl's story from the very beginning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and JoAnn DeLozier.

Carol leaves behind a family strengthened by her example, friendships enriched by her kindness, and a legacy of love that will endure for generations. The house may be quieter now, but the feeling of home she created lives on in all who knew her.

Carol was home to so many during her life. Today, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is finally home herself—in her eternal home in Heaven, embraced by the love and grace of Jesus.
