Carol Ann McBride, a woman of remarkable spirit and quiet strength, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Swedish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Born in Miami, Oklahoma on September 1, 1941, Carol carried a sense of independence and determination throughout her eighty-four years, living a life defined by hard work, a deep love for animals, and a thirty-one-year partnership with her husband, Lynn.

A natural businesswoman and a skilled salesperson, Carol was never one to sit idle. Over the years, she navigated the world of entrepreneurship with confidence, from owning a motorcycle shop to running the Carpet Barn. It was at her carpet store that she first met Lynn; what began as a working relationship blossomed into a deep, enduring love, and the two were married in 1997. Together, they built a life centered on mutual support and simple joys.

Carol’s heart was perhaps most evident in her devotion to those who could not speak for themselves. A passionate advocate for animal welfare, she spent years volunteering and working at animal shelters, including Max Fund, where she helped countless pets find their forever homes. At home, she was most content in her favorite comfortable clothes and with her faithful dog Diamond, who misses her presence dearly.

Though she faced health challenges in her later years, Carol met them with a characteristic resolve, continuing to move forward with grace. Her final moments were marked by the same tenderness that defined her marriage, as Lynn remained by her side, holding her hand until the very end. She is survived by her husband, Lynn, and her children Mike and Sherrie.  Carol will remain with Lynn until they are eventually reunited at Fort Logan National Cemetery, together once again.
