Carol Lee (Rupp) Larrick, 71, died peacefully on July 8, 2026, at Pathways Hospice, Ft. Collins, CO. following several years of extreme pain while enduring numerous medical complications.
Carol Lee (Rupp) Larrick was born on October 1, 1954, in Hays, Kansas to Lawrence A. Rupp and Dorothy Rose (Wiesner) Rupp. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 30 years, Donald R. Larrick, her older sister Debra K. Rupp and Scott L. Rupp (nephew). Carol grew up in a fun, lively family where she enjoyed water skiing and duck hunting with her father before attending Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO in 1972 to study business.
Carol quickly discovered that her out-going personality, keen intellect and determination led to a highly successful career at Anderson Graphics, Inc. as executive assistant to the president. By age 20 she was traveling throughout North America to energy hubs acquiring large accounts for the company such as Amoco Canada and others. Within three years Carol was a corporate officer.
In 1983, seeking greater opportunities, Carol joined Metagenics West, Inc., a distributor of pharmaceutical grade nutritional products and patented medical foods, as an outside sales specialist. She grew her new sales territory from zero to $45,000 per month. Never content simply working for the company, Carol and a minority partner purchased Metagenics West, Inc. in 1988.
Under her ownership, leadership and passion for healthcare, Carol grew the company to 16 sales and support employees serving six western states. Annual sales exceeded $3.0 million per year, with more than 25,000 products sold each month. During the next 10 years she trained doctors throughout the region in the clinical use of more than 350+ nutritional products. Both Carol and her distributorship received many sales awards. In 1998 she sold the multi-million-dollar business to corporate Metagenics, Inc. Carol continued to lecture for the company and co-wrote a national corporate wellness program.
Carol was, without question, the finest sales professional anyone could hope to meet. Her motto was “There’s a time for lots of work to make time for lots of play,” and she truly lived it. Guided by her belief that “Life’s a Journey, Take a Friend Along” Carol traveled extensively with friends, enjoying adventures that included sky diving, skiing, scuba diving throughout the Caribbean, and travel around the world.
Above all, Carol treasured the people she loved. Whether encouraging friends, supporting family, or sharing adventures with Don, she gave herself wholeheartedly. Those who knew her will remember her quick smile, boundless energy, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty.
In 1995, Carol met the man who would forever capture her heart, Donald R. Larrick from Englewood, CO. They married the following year on September 1, 1996. Together they traveled throughout the United States and the world, built a life filled with family, and shared a marriage that grew deeper with each passing year. They made their home in Windsor, Colorado, in 2013.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Rupp.
Carol faced life’s challenges with remarkable courage, grace, and unwavering faith. Her generosity, optimism, and gift for friendship touched countless lives across the country. She embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, and she truly lived life to its fullest.
