Forever loved, always remembered, and forever in our hearts.

Celebrating the Life of Carol Ann Emery

Carol Ann Emery passed peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, and a lasting impact on the family she cherished so deeply.

Carol was born on October 9, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Jean Ray Mead and Lionel Richard Mead. She spent her childhood in Oklahoma before moving to Colorado as a teenager. Family was always at the center of Carol’s life. She shared a beautiful and special bond with her sister, Patricia Evanetich. Carol always lovingly teased that “Pammy” was her true name, as she never cared for “Patricia.” She also shared a special bond with Bill Evanetich, her brother-in-law, who was loved by Carol as a brother. As the years went on, Carol and Pammy became inseparable—always there for one another and often mirroring each other in the most loving ways.

Carol was married to Paul Bernard and Raymond Emery and later shared a beautiful life with Donald Chase, where they were fortunate to travel the world together. She was a loving mother to Richard Emery (Lori Emery), Larry Emery (Suzanne Emery), and Denise Emery-Ward. She was a proud grandmother and cherished watching her family grow: Danielle; Kyle (Jeanne); Auburn (Josh); Tyler (Andrea); Brandon (Shay); Ashlie (Nick); Mitchel (Brittany); Derek (Veronica); and Alyssa (Derek). Her love continued through her great-grandchildren: Jayden, Kaidee, Dominick, Mary Jane, Hazel, Ruby, and Elijah.

Carol enjoyed traveling throughout her middle years, creating memories and experiencing new places, with Hawaii being one of her favorite destinations. She also held a special place in her heart for Black Hawk, Colorado, where she loved visiting and trying her luck. Above all, Carol treasured time spent with family and watching the generations she loved grow.

Carol will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, and the love she shared with those around her. She was always there to support her family, offer comfort, and listen whenever they needed her. Carol loved to joke that she had her “Daddy’s ears,” a sweet reminder of the connection she shared with her father and the humor she carried throughout life. Despite the challenges she faced, including living with MS, she maintained a positive outlook and faced life with grace, strength, and gratitude.

Carol was deeply loved by her extended family and will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews, including Mark, Ann, Elena, Judy, David, and Cara, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carol found peace in knowing she would one day be reunited with her beloved son, Rick. Near the end of her life, she often spoke about that reunion and looked forward to it with love and peace.
