Carol Joanne Dyer

Carol Dyer, 91, of Arvada, CO, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. A Colorado native, Carol was born in Denver to Melvin and Geraldine Purse on August 8, 1934. Raised in Wheat Ridge, Carol was a graduate of Wheat Ridge High and Colorado A&M (now Colorado State University). She is survived by sons Kirk (Dawn) and Rob, grandchildren Riley and Dylan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by husband Fred J. Dyer in 2004.

Carol met Fred when both were educators in Albuquerque, NM. They married in Arvada in 1957. In addition to teaching, Carol was a longtime office manager for a medical practice and volunteered her time throughout her life. In her final years, she handknitted and donated several dozen prayer shawls to bring comfort to hospice patients at Lutheran Collier Hospice Center. She donated her final shawls when she herself was admitted to the center. Her family will celebrate her memory in a private ceremony.
