Carolyn (Carol) Marie Baumann Clark, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of determination, compassion, and love.
Carol was born on June 2, 1941, to Karl and Cora Baumann near Lemoyne on her parents’ cattle ranch. She began her education in a one-room schoolhouse in Lemoyne before attending Ogallala High School, where she graduated in 1959.
After high school, Carol married Charles “Bud” Lee. Together they had two sons, and Carol was also a devoted mother to two stepdaughters. She lived in the Ogallala area before moving with her family to Northglenn, Colorado, where she remained in the Denver metro area for the rest of her life.
In the mid-1970s, Carol transitioned from being a full-time mother and homemaker to a career in retail sales, holding numerous sales and management positions. During this time, she pursued higher education at Regis University, earning Bachelors Degree in business administration a Masters Degree in education. Never one to stop learning, Carol continued her studies and earned a doctorate in psychology. She took great pride in her accomplishments and especially enjoyed being known as Dr. Carol Clark.
Carol went on to serve as a professor at Front Range Community College, teaching on the Westminster and Longmont campuses, where she shared her knowledge and experience with countless students.
After 22 years of marriage, Carol and Bud divorced. She later married Larry Clark, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage until her passing.
Carol was deeply involved in the Order of the Eastern Star and participated in various units and clubs within the El Jebel Shrine, where she formed many lasting friendships.
An accomplished world traveler, Carol enjoyed many adventures with Larry, including trips throughout Europe—Germany, Austria, and Italy—as well as frequent visits to Mexico and numerous cruises to destinations around the world.
Carol was also a published author, having written and published two books. She was a devoted animal lover, particularly fond of cats, and rescued many abandoned cats throughout her life. She was a longtime supporter of the Cat Care Society.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Karl R. and Cora Baumann.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Clark; her brother, Karl Loy Baumann; her sons, Michael Lee and Thomas Lee; her stepdaughters, Vickie Bush and Sherrie Purdy; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 8:30 am with viewing at 8:00am. Services will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada, Colorado.
Internment will follow the memorial service at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
