Carol Ann Chizzo, 91, formerly of Evergreen Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1934 in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of William Neisner and Anna Dombrowski.
Carol married Charles Chizzo on March 2, 1957 and together they shared 61 years of marriage and raised six children. She was a humble woman of faith who loved the Lord, and she passed those Christian values on to her family.
Carol worked as a secretary at Lucent Technologies for several years and made many friends throughout her career. She enjoyed reading Sherlock Holmes mysteries, watching movies, listening to music, gardening, shopping, fishing, caring for her dogs, cats, and birds, and indulging in Fannie Mae candy. Most of all she loved her family unconditionally. She was sweet, generous, kind-hearted, always willing to help, and had a smile for everyone she met.
Carol is survived by her children: David Chizzo, Peggy (Bob) Burroughs, Paul (Sonia) Chizzo, Laura (Pat) Arnoldussen, and Kathy Chizzo-Brion. She was also a devoted grandmother and great grandmother to many wonderful children. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Anna, husband Charles, son Scott, daughter-in-law Becky, grand-daughter Emily, daughter-in law Tania, sisters Lillian and Lavelle, and brother Norman.
Memorial donations can be made to The Denver Hospice, 8289 East Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO 80230 for the kind, compassionate, and comfort care they provided.
