Carl Stephen Guyer, age 69, died in his home in Littleton, Colorado on January 20th, 2023. He was born October 4th,1953, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest son of the late Rev. C. Albert Guyer and Hazel Guyer (Beard). Stephen earned many higher educational accolades which are as follows: Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McPherson College, Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Metro State College, Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from University of Denver, and Master of Arts in Conducting from University of Denver.
One of Stephen's many passions was music. Throughout his life, Stephen performed in small bands, community orchestras, and was the director of several choral and symphonic groups. Stephen had many business endeavors as well, in which he was the CFO of various companies. He was a former columnist for the Denver Business Journal, which led him to publishing his own book with the articles he wrote. Stephen enjoyed spending many of his summers at Camp Colorado as a camp counselor. The love for Camp Colorado was passed onto his children who now enjoy their summers there. As Stephen grew older, he found a love for chaplaincy and was a hospital chaplain for almost 20 years. In this role, he had the privilege of officiating several weddings, including his only son’s in 2016. Stephen is survived by his three children, Christopher (Jocelyn), Stephanie, and Lauren Marie, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Donna) Guyer.
A memorial service will take place at Horan and McConaty Funeral Homes (5303 E County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122) on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 11:00am.
