Carla Ann McFadden

Carla Ann McFadden of Evergreen, Colorado passed away peacefully with the knowledge that she had the unconditional love of her family and friends surrounding her.

Born July 2, 1948, a 5th generation Colorado native She is descended from Jennie Shackleton and Arthur Brinker, CSA. Carla was born in Denver, Colorado the second of four children to Karl and Marjorie Montrose. She spent her childhood in Denver near Washington Park and later around Southeast Denver. Carla graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1966 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Denver. She later obtained her Masters Degree in literacy from the University of Northern Colorado. She spent 25 years primarily teaching first grade at Edgewater Elementary and the final five years of her career at Bergen Elementary in Evergreen.

In 1976, she met the love of her life Bob and they were married on June 11,1978. Together, they had two sons Andrew born in 1983 and William born 1985. Carla was an incredible mother and wife and she taught her family the love of reading, and the love of spending as much time as possible outdoors in the Rocky Mountains. After retirement from teaching, she spent her time volunteering for Evergreen Christian Outreach and as a substitute teacher. She was also involved in many book clubs and went to as many of her grandkids activities as she possibly could.

Carla is survived by her husband of 47 years Bob, her sister Marjorie of Lakewood, brother Jim of South Africa, and her two sons; Andrew, of Loveland and William of Akron, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren Asher and Stellen of Loveland and Colleen, Graham, Heather, Margaret, and Rebecca of Akron.

 A celebration of life will be held at Church of the Hills in the spring to be announced at a later date.
