Bruce Kramlich

Bruce Carroll Kramlich, 97, of Littleton, CO passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on July 31, 2021.  Born November 4, 1923 in Wauwatosa, WI, the son of Charles Walter, Jr. and Irma Ida (Kuechenmeister) Kramlich.

Bruce was raised in Wauwatosa, WI and graduated from what is now Wauwatosa East High School. He spent one year at Carroll College in Waukesha, WI before being drafted into the army at 19 years old. Bruce was assigned to the 304th Port Co. of the 519th Port Battalion. He was a very proud WW II veteran having landed on Utah Beach, Normandy, France on D-Day plus one and serving in Antwerp, Belgium.  Following service to his country, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  While in Madison, he met and married the love of his life, Grayce.

Bruce worked in the aerospace industry first for AC/Delco, Oak Creek, WI on the guidance systems for Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Gemini, and Apollo space crafts and later for Lockheed Martin, Denver, CO on Skylab.  He spent the final 20 years of his career working for Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, MI on emission controls and the catalytic converter for Econoline Vans.

Bruce was a proud member of the ATO fraternity, and shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. He was a former volunteer for the I Can Read program at Littleton Public Schools, Past President/Board Member of the Ridgewood Village Homeowner’s Assoc. and Past President/Board Member of the South Metro Land Conservancy. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, WI and kept that membership all of his life.

Surviving Bruce is one sister, Carol Kramlich Riley Mongreig of Mequon, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 66 years Grayce Elizabeth Smout Kramlich, and his brother, Charles “Wesley” Kramlich of Door County, WI. He is further survived by daughter, Katharine “Katie” Denning; son, Bruce C. Kramlich, II and wife, Janet Smith Kramlich; Grandchildren: Rebecca “Becky” Kramlich and Karl N Brekke, Bruce C. Kramlich, III and Amanda Martin Kramlich, William C. Denning and Katie Rowland Denning, and Andrew “Drew” Denning; Great Grandchildren: Katherine “Kate” G. Brekke, Owen R. Brekke, Claire J. Brekke, Charley K. Denning, Brooke E. Denning, and a future Great Granddaughter Kramlich arriving in October 2021. Several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors will also miss him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 10:30 AM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5053 E. Countyline Rd. Centennial, CO 80122. A reception will immediately follow the service. The internment will be held at 2:00 PM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery where he will receive  full military honors.
