Bruce L. Jensen

Bruce L. Jensen passed away March 30, 2026. He was born March 27, 1937, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He moved at a young age to Ellendale, Minnesota, where he graduated from high school. He attended college in 1959 at Hamline University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was accepted into medical school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1963.

Bruce enlisted in the Air Force from 1964–1967 as a general medical officer in Japan. He and his family, then wife Darlene, Kristen, Paul and Tom, lived in Japan. After returning to the United States, he began a general psychiatry residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center from 1967–1971.

Bruce was in private practice in Denver, Colorado, from 1971–1991. He became Vice President of Medical Services at Saint Joseph Hospital (now called Intermountain Health) from 1991–1997. In 1997, he became Vice President of Exempla Health Care, serving from 1997–2000.

Bruce was a staff psychiatrist at the Veterans Medical Center from 2000–2005. He divorced his first wife and married Rebecca Gregg in 2013. Bruce worked at Aurora Mental Health as a general psychiatrist from 2013–2018.

He leaves behind his wife, Rebecca, and surviving son Tom Jensen (daughter Skyler and son Lucas). Two of Bruce's children predeceased him: Kristen Jensen Carter (surviving husband Charles Carter, son Max and daughter Sarah) and Paul Jensen (surviving daughters Madelyn and Elise Jensen Prescott and husband Carter).

Bruce loved watching golf and especially playing golf. He had the thrill of enjoying more than one hole in one. He won a motorcycle while playing in a tournament and sold it within a week. He was an avid catch-and-release fly fisherman.

Bruce loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.
