Obituary

Bruce Webster Bartram was a proud son of the "People’s Republic of Boulder” Colorado. He was born to John ‘Jack’ W Bartram and Virginia ‘Ginny’ B Bartram on August 4, 1952. Bruce grew up in Boulder attending Boulder High School and the University of Colorado where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Bruce used his degree to work for many years as an electronics engineer in the Radar Meteorology & Oceanography Division of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Boulder. He was highly intelligent and embraced the challenges of designing, building, and running Weather Radar.

Bruce was devoted to his community and was an active and resolute volunteer member of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group for many years. Bruce and his associates utilized their mountaineering skills to accomplish numerous rescues and recoveries.

Bruce loved nature and animals. He was a staunch supporter of the Wild Animal Sanctuary and enjoyed nothing more than to stroll around the grounds watching its inhabitants.

Bruce was an avid Scuba Diver. He met his life partner, Marleen, on a trip to Micronesia twenty-seven years ago. Sharing their lives, they explored the oceans of the world and had a fabulous time.

Bruce was a kind and generous man who would help anyone in need. He was gentle and had an enthusiastic sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents and stepmother, Harriette ‘Hattie’ Shaw Bartram. He is survived by his life partner, Marleen Langfield, his sister Marianne ‘Muffy’ Bartram Matthews of Colorado, his brothers, William ‘Bill’ Bartram of Minnesota, and John ‘Jay’ Bartram of Washington, a niece and three nephews.
