Brian Aldon Von Feldt

July 10, 1988 — December 20, 2014

Brian Aldon Von Feldt, 26, born on July 10, 1988 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 20, 2014. He resided in Colorado at the time of his death. Brian Von Feldt was a remarkable son, brother, husband, father and friend who was best known for his selflessness, pride, and his ability to laugh and bring a smile to those around him. Born to his mother Brenda and father Darren, Brian was raised in a military family. He spent his adolescent years in Wyoming, North Carolina, Germany, Tennessee, Indiana, California and South Korea, making friends and memories in each and every place. Throughout those childhood years, the constant in Brian's life was his loving family, including his two closest friends, his sister Breänna and his brother Dalton. After concluding his secondary education at Seoul American High School in Seoul, Korea, Brian enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman and was assigned to the 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment in Fort Richardson, Alaska. In 2009-2010, Brian was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He received numerous awards and decorations, including the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, and the Combat Infantry Badge. After returning to the United States at the conclusion of his military service, Brian spent his time in the stunningly beautiful setting of the American West, including an extended stay in Alaska. Soon after, his beautiful daughter Mia was born in Denver, CO. During his down time, Brian loved to challenge himself through skateboarding, snowboarding, weight-lifting, running and riding his bike. Before his passing, Brian had begun to build a happy life for himself in Colorado. Brian is survived by his father Darren Von Feldt, mother Brenda Xidis, his daughter Mia, siblings Breänna and Dalton Von Feldt, and Mason Xidis, grandmothers Norma Von Feldt and Nancy Sandberg, and great-grandmother Orpha Bernardon. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Alvin Von Feldt and Eldon Sandberg. A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 1st, from 4-7pm, and Friday, January 2nd, from 10am-12pm. Both visitations will take place at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado. Brian will be laid to rest on Friday, January 2nd, at 12:30pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado where he will receive a full honors military burial. There will also be a celebration of Brian's life on Sunday, January 4th, which will take place at 3pm at Valparaiso Nazarene Church in Valparaiso, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Brian through the 'Brian Aldon Von Feldt Memorial Fund' at Navy Federal Credit Union. Donations will be on behalf of Brian's daughter Mia, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. For more information please contact either Darren or Brenda and see the information below.
