Boyd Brack was born on January 12, 1960 in Great Bend, Kansas. He was the fifth and “middle” child of Annabelle and Lloyd Brack. The family moved from Great Bend, to Sundance, Wyoming, and ended up in Aurora, CO, where the family still gathers for Sunday lunch and holidays. Boyd spent summers in Nekoma, Kansas with Grandma O’Brien and a multitude of siblings and cousins. Here, he fished (got poison ivy), ate sweets, and watched the soaps with Grandma all afternoon, which they both loved. By the time he was 20, he welcomed his children Mandy, BJ and Leticia into his life. He worked many odd jobs until 1985 when he went to work at IHS Markit. Here he met the love of his life, Tammy. Boyd and Tammy were married on April 26, 1990, bought a house two doors down from his brother, Byron in Bennett and along with Tammy’s son, Michael Buntrock, began their family life. Their family grew with the birth of Tyler in 1992 and Sean in 1995. If Boyd wasn’t at school and sports events, for Michael, Tyler, and Sean, he was watching the Broncos and reading. Boyd loved to read; he had books stacked to the ceiling lining the walls of his study and in recent years, switched to reading a kindle. Boyd, also, spent time with his Uncle Frank and his brothers dove and pheasant hunting in Kansas; Tyler came along when he was old enough. Boyd worked hard, trying to balance his time between two jobs and his family. In recent years, he spent time getting to know his older children and his grandchildren taking them on day trips when they came to visit. Boyd was a great cook, famous for his baked beans and deviled eggs. He loved lemon meringue pie and Mountain Dew. He had an easy laugh, let others be themselves, and accepted everyone for who they were. Boyd and Tammy lived a quiet life in Bennett together. They loved to take long drives and to care for an array of small dogs. Tammy and Boyd had hoped to retire to Kansas and live a quiet country life. Boyd is loved and missed by many, especially his wife, Tammy, who lost their son, Tyler on April 11, 2020 and her mom, Barbara Caldwell, to Covid on November 17, 2020 and now Boydee. Please keep Tammy in your thoughts and prayers.
