Message from Bonnie, Mom, & Grammy:

I was given the gift of life, and now I must give it back. I have felt full of life and left this world with special memories of family, friends, and adventures.

I experienced so many life adventures, in fact, having been referred to as the “queen of adventure"". I lived in the St. Louis area, Atlanta, San Antonio, Los Angeles, and Denver. My desire was to live near an ocean and mountains, which I was blessed to do both at the latter part of life. I traveled the world, including but not limited to, Canada, Mexico, England, Belgium, Germany, France, New Zealand, and Peru. I absolutely loved meeting new people and experiencing wonderful cultures. And yes ... I pushed myself to adventurous feats such as repelling off cliffs, climbing Half Dome, and Outward Bound survival trips. I felt full of life through every moment.

On a professional note, I believe I was accomplished in my career. However, more importantly, I had the absolute pleasure of mentoring bright individuals whose careers I watched blossom. I am forever proud of each and every one of you.

Regarding the Busekrus/Reed clan ... What can I say? Many crazy, fun times ... may I say a pie in the face back to you. Ha!

As a mother, the most important thing you do in life is raising your children. I was quite proud of my daughters Cheryl and Debbie, both of whom have grown into accomplished professionals, married wonderful men, and raised beautiful children. I will smile down upon them as I continue to watch them live their lives. I have cherished my grandchildren Kelsie, Mackenzie, and Grant. They have been so very dear to my heart and I will miss them greatly. But, they, too, can know that I am looking down upon them and watching them grow and experience life. I hope they are as adventurous as me and live life to the fullest. And, I feel such peace that I will now be watching along with my dad and mom, Ed and Loretta.

I have felt such peace in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and have been blessed to spend so much time there at end of my days on Earth. I married my husband Rod in the most quaint mountain Buffalo Creek chapel, surrounded by family and friends. We were blessed to spend much time at the cabin, bringing it back to life, and hiking the trails on the property. My ashes are to be spread at one of my favorite mountain views there.

I leave you with one of my favorites, the Serenity Prayer, which is quite fitting as I move on to a better, peaceful place: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
