Bobbie Weeks Snell, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, in Westminster, Colorado. Her husband of nearly 62 years, Bill Snell; her daughter, Kathy Snell Duffin; and her son-in-law, Terry Duffin, were by her side. She will be missed terribly by her family and friends.
Bobbie grew up in Ozark, Alabama, with her siblings, Elaine, and Gene. She graduated from Carroll High School and earned a degree in Education from Troy State Teachers College in 1962. She married Billy Snell on November 23, 1962. They moved around in the early years of Bill’s career, but they eventually settled in Charlotte, NC, where together they raised their children, Michael, and Kathy. Bobbie and Bill moved to the Denver, CO, area in 2002 to be closer to Kathy; her husband, Terry; and their young daughter, Kasey.
Bobbie was an accomplished cook and enjoyed preparing many wonderful meals for her family, especially during the holidays. She was kind enough to pass down several favorite recipes that her children and grandchildren will continue to enjoy. Bobbie enjoyed traveling, especially to visit family, which was spread out in various locations. She and Bill traveled extensively over the years, enjoying trips to many countries where they explored different sights, cultures, and cuisines.
Bobbie is survived by her beloved husband, Bill; their son, Michael Snell (Ginny Snell); and their daughter, Kathy Snell Duffin (Terry Duffin); along with their four grandchildren: Matthew Snell (Halley Smith), Emily Caroline Snell Freeman (Connor Freeman), Kasey Duffin, and Eric Snell. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Weeks Taylor of Albany, GA, and her brother, Gene Weeks (Pat Weeks) of Phoenix, AZ — in addition to nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Bobbie’s love and memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew her.
Horan and McConaty Funeral Home (North Metro/Thornton) is handling funeral arrangements. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor her life are encouraged to donate to the organization of their choice, and to raise a glass of wine in her memory.
Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook, leave a personal note, and share stories of Bobbie.
