Bobbie Lynn Brooke

November 4, 1947 — November 25, 2025

Bobbie Lynn Brooke was born on November 4, 1947, to Robert and Lula Brooke. She grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, along with her younger Brother Clark.

Born one mile from Lake Erie, PA, Bobbie loved the beach and being around the water, as long as her hair didn’t get wet.

Bobbie graduated from Strong Vincent High School. After graduating from Grove City College, Bobbie and her Husband James Marsh moved from Erie, PA to Denver, CO. She fell in love with the weather and mountains, making Colorado her home for more than 50 years.

At 21, Bobbie started her teaching career in Adams County School District 12. After teaching elementary school for a few years, Bobbie earned her Masters Degree in Library Science at UC Denver. She started her career as a Media Specialist at McElwain Elementary where she had a knack for bringing stories alive to her young students. It was during her 25 years at McElwain Elementary that she made many lifelong friends. After retiring at the young age of 50, Bobbie went on to take permanent substitute jobs in District 12 for the next 25 years.

In 1984, Bobbie received the Rhode’s Schlolarship for a Teacher Exchange Program that enabled her to spend a year teaching in Great Yarmouth, England. During this time, Bobbie had the opportunity to travel extensively through Europe. One of her favorite destinations was Greece. Her year abroad teaching not only expanded her passport, but her friends as well, making more lifelong friendships along the way. Among those friendships was one with her student Samantha Richardson, even becoming godmother to Samantha’s children Oscar and Florence Rose. Her time in the UK also gave her a lifelong love of all things BBC.

Bobbie had a love for musical theatre and was a long time season ticket holder to the Broadway Musical Series at DCPA. She almost never missed whatever play was in town during the December holiday season and it became a tradition she loved sharing. Much like her love for storytelling to her students, she loved sharing her passion for theatre with her friends and family. It was during this time she instilled a love for music and theatre in her young niece, Devin and her good friend’s daughter, Molly. Many fun times were had going downtown to the theatre and having dinner at Maggiano’s after. Bobbie also had a love for adventure. As well as traveling through the UK, Europe, Mexico and the British Virgin Islands, she especially loved going to the Oregon Coast and renting a very special house on Canon Beach. Bobbie would have lived there permanently if she could have.

Other passions of Bobbie’s were Pilates, dancing, reading, watching or going to movies, having cocktails with her friends and golf. Her handicap was her backswing. Bobbie also loved going to Black Hawk and Las Vegas to play video poker.

Bobbie touched a lot of lives, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her Parents Robert Earl Brooke and Lula Pauline Fannin Brooke. Bobbie is survived by her Brother Clark Dennis Brooke (Ramona), her Niece Devin Rae Brooke, and her Cat Millie.
