Beverley passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, one day before her 85th birthday. She had struggled with Alzheimer's disease for over fifteen years. She was born at home in Hartford, Kansas on November 29, 1039. When she was two, her family moved to Parsons, Kansas where she attended school. After graduating high school in three years, she attended Parsons Junior College and them Emporia State Teachers College. There she obtained degrees in Physical Education and Science. Her senior year, she was recruited by Littleton School District to teach at Euclid Junior High in Littleton, Colorado. At only twenty years of age, she began a career that lasted for the next 35 years.
Bev was very active in sports her entire life. She loved to ski, bowl, play volleyball, softball, basketball and soccer. She was also a very good tennis and badminton player. At Euclid, she coached girls' basketball and volleyball in the 60's and 70's. Her teams were champions and even has one undefeated season. Many people, however, remember Bev because of her beautiful voice. She took part in many plays and musicals during high school and college.
Beverley is survived by her sister, Mrs. Alyce Dyck, nephews Alan, Dwayne and Loren Dyck; a niece, Mrs. Diana Demaree, and her companion Nancy Andrews. Bev was very close to her family and spent many wonderful hours and adventures with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Alvin Crail and Phyllis M. Crail, and her brother Lyle Crail.
A celebration of Bev's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at Horan & McConaty Mortuary located at 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. A reception will be held immediately following the service and all are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, Bev would prefer a donation be made to your favorite animal shelter or to Alzheimer's Research.
