Betty L. Sferra

Betty passed away December 24, 2014. She was born on April 5, 1928 in Welby, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Mary Dursey; husband, Mike; sister, and Margaret (Dursey) Clough. She is survived by her brother, Tony Dursey; children, Larry (Betty), Kathy Wineland (Dennis), Mary Thomas (Mark), and Stephen (Bobbie). Betty was most proud of her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty was raised and lived on farms for most of her life. While working the farm with Mike, she began a long career as a bus driver for the Mapleton school district, where she was recognized several times for her dedicated and superior service. One of her favorite ways to spend time was to be on a lake in the mountains with a fishing pole in her hands. She was a loving mother, good friend to many, and talented cook. She will be missed by her family and friends. A private Mass was held for Betty on Tuesday at Horan & McConaty, with Entombment following at Mt. Olivet. Memorials may be made in Betty's name to Assumption Catholic Parish, 2361 E. 78th Ave., Welby, Colorado 80229.
