Betty Jean Merritt

Betty Jean Merritt was born in Freedom, Pennsylvania October 20, 1930 to Robert Houston Painter and Tressie Katherine (Myers) Painter, and passed away at her home in Denver, Colorado on March 29, 2014 at age 83. She was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Merritt in May of 2005. Betty is survived by her children; Linda J. (Victor) Szepe, Charles E. (Mary Jean) Boyer, D. Diane (Walt) Stone and Steve E. (Jodie Hansen) Boyer and her step children, David Merritt and Bernadette (Dale) DeForest. She is also survived by her sisters, Agnes Crouse and Dorothy Shatzer, her grandchildren, Greg (Kristen) Szepe, Kevin Szepe, Holly Hughes, Kim Boyer, Molly Boyer, Cameron Boyer and Paxton Boyer, and her great granddaughters Savannah and Gracelyn Szepe. The Funeral Service will be held 11AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
