Betty Lee Kennedy, daughter of Frank F. Fiser and Emma Rose (Slama) Fiser was born on April 29, 1935 in Mahaska, Kansas. She grew up on a farm and was raised as a farm girl in Mahaska, Kansas. She passed away May 23rd, 2025 at Waneka Park Assisted Living in Lafayette, CO. Betty was 90 years old, and had lived in North Denver, Wheat Ridge, and Arvada after her move to Colorado.
Betty graduated from Mahaska High School (Mahaska, Kansas), and went on to attend Fairbury Junior College where she received her teaching degree. She taught grades 3 and 4 at Courtland Public Schools in Courtland, Kansas.
She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1957 and went to work for Public Service of Colorado. One night, while out dancing, she met her husband to be, Philip J. Kennedy. They married on February 7, 1959 and lived on Newton Street in North Denver. On October 14, 1961, they had a boy and named him Philip J. Kennedy Jr. Two years later on October 5, 1963 they brought their daughter into the world, Michelle M. Kennedy (Bobrick).
Betty and Phil were the owner operators of Driscoll's Pub Bar on 38th Avenue in North Denver in the 60's and early 70's. There were many memories made during this time. She went on to work at Lehrer's Flowers, Wardrobe at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, and eventually found her place working for the Denver Broncos Ticket Office for many enjoyable years. On November 7, 1980 she lost her husband in a work accident. She never remarried but lived the rest of her life enjoying family and grandchildren.
On November 3, 2023, Betty moved to Waneka Park Assisted Living to finish her life journey.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma (Slama) Fiser, and her beloved husband Philip J. Kennedy.
She is survived by her children: son Philip J. Kennedy Jr, (wife Renee) of Broomfield, CO; daughter Michelle M. Kennedy-Bobrick (husband Dean) of Westminster, CO; grandsons Geno Bobrick (Andrea) of Thornton, CO; Cole Kennedy of Lafayette, CO; Caleb Kennedy of Lafayette, CO; Caden Kennedy of Loveland, CO; Chase Kennedy of Broomfield, CO; granddaughter Peyton (Bobrick) Mortensen (husband Kip) of Arvada, CO.
Betty lived at Waneka Park Assisted Living for 1.5 years. Betty enjoyed living at Waneka and called home.
