Betsy H. Boyle

Betsy H. Boyle passed away suddenly at home Friday, November 7, 2025.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Betsy was the daughter of the late Lois (Hale) and John Boyle and sister of Jack Boyle.

Betsy is survived by close friends and “mortgage mates,” Helen Welch and Susan Murphy. She is also survived by sister in law, Mary Boyle, a niece and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

Betsy worked in the Archdiocese of Denver for 34 years as a teacher, coach, Principal, Associate Superintendent, Coordinator for the Office of Catholic Schools, Superintendent and Secretary for Catholic Schools.

Upon her retirement from the Archdiocese in 2003, she went to work full time for Catholic Education Consulting Services, LLC (CECS), a company she founded in 1995. Betsy served as President and consultant for CECS where she specialized in governance, law, personnel, policy development and board/council formation for dioceses and Catholic schools across the US. In addition to her graduate studies and degrees, Boyle held both a Basic and Advanced Certificate in Employment Law. She was a frequent presenter on legal and personnel issues in Catholic schools and had been a presenter at the Private School Law Symposium in Louisville, KY. Betsy was among the original members of Catholic Urban Educators (CUE) and had been a respected member of the Chief Administrators of Catholic Education (CACE) Division of NCEA for 30 years.

Betsy’s life-long commitment to sustaining and improving Catholic schools across the country earned her recognition as Distinguished Alumni from her Cleveland, Ohio high school, Regina Catholic School in 2004. She was also honored with a Distinguished Alumni award from Loretto Heights College in 2013.

Gathering with friends for celebrations of holidays, birthdays or just a weekly dinner was an important part of her life. Always ready to share a joke or amusing stories from various activities, she kept the party rolling, with maybe just a little embellishment to make the stories more humorous. She loved her Colorado Rockies and stuck by them especially during their last season. Her sense of humor, hospitality and dedication to friends will be sorely missed.
