Beth I. (Hammond) Pratt, 92, of Lakewood, CO died peacefully on December 9th at Brookdale of Green Mountain. Born in 1924 to Murray and Bertha Hammond of Northfield Farms in Massachusetts, Beth was the second youngest of 10 children. She grew up on the farm walking 3/4 of a mile one way every day to a one-room school house. Beth met Edward L. Pratt of Athol, MA on a blind date and they were married in 1949. They moved to Chicago where Ed worked as a salesman for the L.S. Starrett Tool Company. Beth and Ed had a daughter Gail, and son Richard. The family moved to Lakewood, CO in 1954 and lived there for the rest of their lives. Beth was very active with the Republican National Committee, Jefferson County Historical Society and Jefferson County Frontier Days. Beth is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Pratt, daughter Gail, son Richard, 7 brothers Marshall, Ralph, Harold, Eugene, Gilbert, John and Lee Hammond, sisters Hazel Woitkiwecz and Ethel Covey. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Beryle Hammond, Eleanor Hammond and Betty Pratt, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. Christmas was always a very special time for the Pratt family. Beth and her family are once again together as a family for the Christmas holidays. Funeral services will be held December 15th at 10:00am at the Fort Logan National Cemetery.
