Bessie (Vassiliki) G. Nasious

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Bessie (Vassiliki) G. Nasious, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted member of her community. Bessie was born on March 29, 1943, in Steno, Tripoli, Greece, and passed away on August 25, 2024.

In 1963, Bessie met the love of her life, Gus (Kostantinos) Nasious, in Greece. The couple embarked on a journey of love and adventure, setting sail on their honeymoon and arriving in the United States, where they made their home in Denver, Colorado. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family.

Bessie was a devoted member of the Assumption Cathedral in Denver, CO, where her faith and dedication to her community shone brightly. For many years, she was a passionate volunteer for the annual Greek Festival, where she found immense joy and fulfillment in her work, embracing her heritage and sharing it with others.

Bessie is survived by her children, Evangeline (Alexander) Mallas, John G. Nasious, and Nector G. Nasious; her cherished grandson, Thanasis Nasious; her brother-in-law, Art (Maria) Nasious, and nephews; her sister-in-law, Nota Syrpes, along with nieces, nephews, and extended family in Greece and Australia. Her memory will forever be treasured by all who knew her.

A Trisagion and Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 30th at the Greek Orthodox Assumption Cathedral, 4610 East Alameda Avenue, Denver, CO 80246.

Following the service, Bessie will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery. A Makaria will follow the burial at the cathedral.

In lieu of flowers, the family Asks that donations be made to the Greek Orthodox Assumption Cathedral in Bessie's memory.
