Jeanette Nail

B. Jeanette Nail, age 98, daughter of Grover Elgin & Erna Mary Elizabeth (Lehmberg) Vordenbaum passed away peacefully Friday, September 18, 2026.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 14, 1928 and was a graduate of G.W. Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas. Jeanette met Olin Wesley “Wes” Nail in San Antonio, Texas and they went on to marry May 27, 1955. They were married by Wesley’s father, a Methodist Minister. She was proud of this and equally proud that she came from a long line of Texas German Circuit Riders.

She and Wes loved traveling around the United States, in their motorhome, with their close friends from the El Jebel RV Roamer’s club. They also enjoyed foreign travel. Many of those travels resulted in the purchase of antiques for Jeanette’s business, Nail Keg Antiques. Always a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who particularly loved family get togethers. She especially enjoyed family game nights where the game of choice was usually LRC. She’d often exclaim “she never wins” only to clean up! She always hoped she’d win the final round because those were scratch tickets!!

Jeanette is survived by her 4 children: Cindy Olsen, of Littleton, CO, Rusty (Aldora) Nail, of Idaho Springs, CO, Nancy (John) Ahrens, of Littleton, CO and Linda Johnson, of Golden, CO. She’s also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Cochrane, Jenny (Kenton) Lemon, Nick (Kristen) Nail, Michael (Nicole) Fugenschuh, Betsy (Tim) Fugenschuh, Andrew (Erin) Burgardt, Robb (Jesse) Burgardt, Shane (Jordan) Ahrens, Ryan Ahrens and Ben (Lynette) Johnson. Great grandchildren include Evan Winslow, Kaylee & Jacob Lemon, Isaac & Landen Fugenschuh, Amadeus, Cora & Billie Jovanovic, Colton Nail, James, Cameron, Ellie and Jack Ahrens. Also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Grover D. (Toppy) & Richard L. (Frances); sisters Gloria (Ralph) and Betty (John), one brother in law, Benjamin Sharp, 3 sons-in-law, Robert E. Burgardt, Lee K. Olsen and Gary E. Johnson, a nephew, Randy Vordenbaum, a niece, Vanessa Vordenbaum and her granddaughter, Hannah Johnson. 

A special thank you to friends we made through ABC. Melissa Taylor and Shanta Townsend who always found a way to make Jeanette laugh on their many adventures and Jen Sieb for checking in to be sure things were going smoothly.

Then there’s Patricia Erickson, Feliz Vargas, Sam Duran, Marina McClure and Ed Haynes from Namaste Hospice. These people are absolutely amazing with incredible hearts, knowledge and compassion. The level of comfort and peace you gave Jeanette and her family will never be forgotten.

Finally, there’s Dee Wade. Friends since the ‘70s Jeanette couldn’t have asked for a truer friend and confidant than Dee. They saw one another weekly and Dee was always there for Jeanette and her family.
