1927-2025

Our precious Bernardine Caroline Bonfiglio Jones (Bernie) departed this world on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 98. Bernie was a native of Napa, California, where she also met her late husband, Captain Ralph Everett Jones of Sanford, Florida. Bernie’s life as a military wife offered memorable friendships and times well-lived in many States and four years in Japan. Bernie worked in the civil service branch of the government for decades, receiving many awards for her service and loved by her co-workers. Bernie made Colorado her home with her husband in the late sixties and retired from the government in 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Rossi, and her siblings Edward Rossi and Geraldine Nalley, all of Napa. Bernardine is survived by her daughters, Sharon Lee Jones and her late husband, Paolo Barucchieri, and Tina Jones Crowley and her husband, Larry Crowley.

Her grandchildren are Jeff and Julie Crowley and their sons, Airman 1st Class Parker Crowley and Jackson Crowley.

Bernie’s beloved nieces and nephews reside in Florida, California, and Kansas.

Her life is best described by her kindness and fun-loving spirit, and at the same time, her resiliency and ability to overcome challenges and difficult times. Bernie celebrated her family, friends, fun, travel, hobbies, cooking, charities, her country, and her beloved dogs. She showed all who knew her that your strength comes from embracing who you are and being able to laugh at yourself. She has been reunited with loved ones and is now smiling upon us. Bernie will forever be remembered for her unwavering love for family and friends and her fun-loving personality.
