Benjamin James McLaughlin entered into eternal life with the Lord on November 3, 2021. He was born on January 1, 1981 in El Paso, TX. After graduating from Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook, CA, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country for 8 years. During this time, he met the love of his life, Kristina Maria DeAnda. They were married on September 30, 2005 in Fairfield, CA. Ben and Kristina remained devoted to each other until his passing and were an inspiration to many friends on the magnitude of relationship they also hoped to find.
The couple moved to Aurora, CO in 2007. Ben always possessed a passion for serving his community and law enforcement. He attended and successfully completed the Colorado Department of Corrections Academy in Canon City, CO in 2011, and subsequently began his job at Sterling Correctional Facility in early 2012. The couple lived in Sterling for several years and made numerous friends which Ben was quick to correct and say they were family. Ben wanted to advance his career, so the couple moved to Denver in 2017 where Ben began working as a Parole Officer. It was also at this time that Ben and Kristina embarked on another dream. They started their own business, Precision K9 Detection Services, where Ben used his knowledge and love for dogs to train them in obedience and police work.
Benjamin was a fiercely devoted and loyal friend who was always ready and willing to help anyone he could. He had an incredible sense of humor and felt he had not completed his mission until your face hurt from laughing so hard. Above all else, Ben will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his Lord and Savior.
Benjamin is survived by his wife Kristina (DeAnda) McLaughlin of Denver, CO: Father and Stepmother William and Maria McLaughlin of Colorado Springs, CO: Brothers Brian of Thornton, CO, Joel of Meeker, CO, Zane of South Carolina, Samuel of Meeker, CO, Scott of Colorado Springs, CO, and sisters Abigail of Colorado Springs, CO, Anna stationed in Alaska and numerous aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Stone and sister Charlene McLaughlin.
In lieu of flowers, Kristina has asked that people make a donation to their local animal shelter in Ben's honor since shelter animals held a special place in his heart.
