Beatrice A. Arendall was born July 27, 1930 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of George and Beatrice Surges and had ten brothers and sisters. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago and worked at Brach's candy company and as a telephone operator. She loved to read and at an early age would spend hours at the library. In 1948 she married Arthur Arendall and had four children Arthur Jr., Earl, Donna and John.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur (2008), son Earl (2015). She is survived by her sister Patricia of California; son Arthur Jr. (Rosemarie) of Lakewood, CO; daughter Donna Moorehouse (Gary) of Hot Springs Village, AR; son John (Carol) of Mundelein, IL; and daughter-in-law Anita of Hockley, TX; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family moved from Chicago to Buffalo Grove, IL in 1963 where they were charter members of Living Christ Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL. Beatrice was very active in her church, teaching Sunday school and singing in the church choir among other things. While living there she was a Girl Scout Leader, loved to bowl and began her life-long passion of ceramics while continuing to read.
In 1979 she and Arthur Sr. moved to Lakewood, CO. It was during this time that she became interested in genealogy and would sometimes accompany Arthur Sr. to Salt Lake City to do research.
In 1990 she and Arthur Sr. retired to The Woodlands, TX. While there, as at her other residences, she made many life-long friends and continued her love of ceramics, participating in weekly get-togethers with friends at the Friendship Center.
In July of 2017 Beatrice moved back to Lakewood, CO to live with son Arthur Jr. and his wife Rosemarie. During this time she continued reading books on her nook, playing puzzles/games on her IPad and visiting with her family. She lived there until passing away on January 4, 2019.
Above all else we should remember that Beatrice loved her family and looked forward to spending time with them. During her final weeks she was most happy when her family visited her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St Judes Children's Research Hospital or the Cat Care Society of Lakewood, CO (www.catcaresociety.org) are encouraged.
