Barry Wallace, 83, passed away Sept. 7 in Denver. He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Megan (Steve), stepson David (Shelley), step-grandson David (Caleb), and many others who loved him and enjoyed his company. Retired from the Aurora School District as biology teacher and basketball coach, Wallace was a standout basketball player in high school and at Colorado State University. He played on a Denver South team that won the state championship in 1958. The Denver Post wrote him up as a “Colorado Classic” in 2013. He enjoyed traveling and visited Antarctica, China, Greece, South America and other countries, almost always having an “adventure” to share upon his return. He was a dedicated volunteer for many worthy causes, including Golf 4 The Disabled and at Aurora Schools credit union. If you’d like to make a donation in his memory, please consider Maxfund (where he and wife Donna adopted Max) or your favorite charity.
