Barbara Jean Carter Wilkison, age 89, died at Denver Hospice August 30, 2021.
Born of Floyd and Beth Carter March 8, 1932 in Salina, KS. She lived in Wilson, KS; Tribune, KS; Northglenn, CO; and Thornton, CO. She worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She married Wesley Wilkison in 1954. Birthed seven children, and became a homemaker and mother for several years. She also worked as a school nurse for a portion of time once all the children were school age. She re-certified as an RN and worked at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, CO. She was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Northglenn, CO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Carter and Beth Carter. She is survived by her brother, Larry Carter (Robin Pilus); her children, Vic Wilkison, Lynn Monahan, Stan (Brenda) Wilkison, Gail (Scott) King, Diane Wilkison, Jim (Kellee) Wilkison, and Kirk Wilkison; her Nephew and Niece, Mike Carter, Rhonda Argabright; her grandchildren, Misty O’Reilly (Ariana Kurtz), Lars Wilkison, Dustin (Japera) Wilkison, Kayla Monahan, Lauren Wilkison, Lindsey (Jimmy) White, James DeWitt, Nick DeWitt, Tony DeWitt, Grant Haskins, Devin Wilkison, Alaycia Wilkison, and Breanne Wilkison; her great grandchildren, Justis Neal, Oriah Rumley, Kira Wilkison, Nadia Wilkison, Naomi Wilkison, Payton Maes, Stanley James Maes, Emersyn Maes, Victoria DeWitt, Gabriel DeWitt, Toby DeWitt, Luke DeWitt, and Felicity DeWitt.
Services will be held at Horan and McConaty, 9998 Grant St., Thornton, CO on September 16, 2021 at 1 PM with reception at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are welcome.
