Barbara Sharp

Barbara Sharp (78) of Aurora, CO, transitioned from this world to the next on September 9, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo., and adopted by Roland and Nadine (nee Morrison) Sharp. Her childhood was spent in Joplin, MO, along with her younger brother, John Roland Sharp. Her parents and brother pre-decease her.

As a teen, Barbara’s family moved to Elk Grove, Illinois. She graduated from Forest View High School in Arlington Heights, then attended Monmouth College where she graduated with a degree in Biology, Chemistry minor. She had a successful career working for OEA Aerospace and Optima Batteries as a Certified Lead Auditor, Quality Engineer and Manager, Safety Engineer, and Health and Safety Coordinator.

Barbara never married or had children; she was a loving aunt to her three nieces and nephew. She was close to her many cousins.

Barbara is best remembered for her zest for life, her kind, loving, and generous heart, and her deep faith and love of learning. She was active in her church, Queen of Peace Catholic Parish, serving many years as the children’s choir director, a ministry she dearly loved. She was an advocate for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, active with The Arc of Aurora. A loyal friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Sue (Paul) Babb; her nieces, Amanda Sharp Parker, Emily Sharp, and Jessica (Adam) Butz; her nephew Christopher (Hailee) Sharp; and three grand nephews and niece, Tatiana and Jaxon Parker, and Ezra Butz.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to The Arc of Aurora or Queen of Peace Catholic Parish.
