Barbara Jane Pippin
March 29, 1930 ~ August 28, 2021
Barbara Jane Pippin, 91, was surrounded by family when she left this earth on August 28,2021.
She was the youngest of five children; born on March 29, 1930, in Brush, Colorado to George and Ethel Gantt.
Barbara attended several schools growing up: Brush, CO, Walden, CO, San Francisco, CA, Keenesburg, CO, and graduated from Kremmling, CO in 1948. Barbara met Harry Pippin while attending high school in Keenesburg. After graduating they were married on May 22, 1948
Barb and Harry would make their home in Keenesburg for the next 50 years as Harry had deep roots in the Keenesburg community. Barbara served as President of the Eastern Stars Lodge Sorority, and a Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She was a Democratic Committee Chairwoman for Weld County and served on the Weld County Executive Committee and election official. Barb was a long time member of the United Methodist Church.
Barbara held various jobs such as setting pins at the bowling alley in Kremmling, working as a telephone operator in Keenesburg, and as the scale lady for Western Sugar Company. But Barbara’s most beloved job was dedicating her life to her husband Harry, raising their six children (Diana, Michael, Melody, Robbie, Trudy, and Steven) and watching their great big beautiful family blossom (currently 54 and still growing)
In December of 1997 they sold their home in Keenesburg and with the New Year began a new adventure of Full-Time Motorhoming. And what an adventure it was! They traveled to nearly every state in the US and met many wonderful new friends that would last the rest of their life. This also provided many family members an opportunity to visit them in various locations. A very very happy time in their retirement years.
In 2002 they began living part time with their daughter Trudy in Lakewood, CO where Barb joined the Fox Hollow Ladies 9-Hole golf league where she scored her 2nd Hole-In-One. In 2007 they sold their motorhome and lived full time with Trudy until moving to assisted living in December 2016. Harry and Barb were married for 70 years when Harry passed away in November 2018. Barbara will be laid to rest with the love of her life, Harry, at Fort Logan Cemetery. “Together Forever”
Barbara is survived by their 6 children and their spouses, 15 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren.
