Barbara Lee Myers

Barbara departed this life on November 25, 2014 at her home in Denver, Colorado. Barbara was born in Canon City, Colorado, on March 25, 1936, the only daughter of loving parents Frank and Violet (James) Hovaten. She graduated Canon City High School in 1953 and attended Denver University, where she earned a degree in Fine Arts and Interior Design. She co-owned an Interior design business, worked for Desks Incorporated and Colorado Endowment for the Humanities before she retired in the mid-1990s. Barbara's passions were gardening, art, and above all, animals. She was a collector of children's books and teddy bears. She will be sadly missed by cousins, Billye June Hovaten Glady, Orem, Utah and Carol Poteet Myers (William), Colorado Springs, Colorado; long time friend, Cynthia Knipple Taylor (Bill), Denver, Colorado as well as other friends and relatives. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Canon City, Colorado at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Society: www.bestfriends.org.
