Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 23, 2026. She was born on September 16, 1949, in Walsenburg, Colorado. She attended Elementary, Junior and Senior High in Walsenburg, Colorado where she was adventuresome keeping up with her two brothers.
Barbara graduated from the University of Colorado – Denver with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Over the course of her career, she served as a Controller and Management Consultant across a variety of industries, including entertainment and oil and gas. She also worked within the client services division of a certified public accounting firm, where she was known for her professionalism, insight, and dedication.
Barbara had a lifelong passion for speed and adventure. Earlier in life she owned a fast car, a jet boat, and was a skilled water skier. She was also a part‑owner of a race car, which she drove in quarter‑mile competition at Bandimere Speedway.
She was a proud member of the Columbine Country Club Women’s Nine‑Hole Group and enjoyed playing golf, especially while traveling on vacations.
For the past thirty years, Barbara and her husband have been devoted members of Greenwood Community Church. During that time, she grew deeply passionate about her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was an active participant in the Greenwood Community Church Women’s Bible Study Group, where she formed lasting friendships and strengthened her faith. Her faith carried her through 7 years of cancer treatments with an amazing attitude and trust in The Lord. She never complained but would always turn to The Lord.
Everyone who knew Barb appreciated her heart and loyalty. It was a defining part of who she was – warm, genuine and ever-present for others. She always focused on others even when she was in pain herself.
Barbara is survived by her husband of forty years, Richard; their sons Rick and Jeff; two step‑sons, Dustin and Kevin; and two step‑grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Ludvik, and his wife Nancy; as well as an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anne (Fink) Ludvik, and her brother Edwin.
Though deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now at peace and pain free in the presence of her Savior, and they look forward to the day they will be reunited again.
A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Community Church on Wednesday, June 3 at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Columbine Country Club.
