Barbara Jean Davis, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021, at the Denver Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis; her mother, Margaret Hendricks; her father, Frederick "Dewey" Hendricks; and her sister, Ellen Eckert.
Born in Bowling Green, Ohio, Barbara, was the youngest of four. Her early life was on the family dairy farm. Barb graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1966. After business college she married Richard Davis in 1970, and then moved to Colorado, where they lived out their lives together. Barb’s professional career in Denver was at the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
Barbara and Richard’s marriage and love for each was sustained for over 48 years. An essential and beloved companion in their lives together was their dog, Rocky.
Barbara truly enjoyed her many passions - bowling with the Sassy Ladies, going to Blackhawk to visit the casinos, and cooking the latest recipes from the Food Network. She also loved horse racing; attending the Kentucky Derby with Richard was a highlight for her. She followed sports, and was an avid fan of the Denver Rockies, Colorado Avalanche, and Ohio State Buckeyes. With Richard she enjoyed many car trips across the US, to sightsee and to visit family members. They also went on an Alaskan cruise with friends. Barb cherished the memories of this trip.
Together, Barbara and Richard made many friends at the Night Shift Saloon in Aurora. Those who knew her valued her caring nature, sense of humor, love of animals, determination, directness, and organizational prowess.
Barbara is survived by her two brothers, Fred Hendricks and David Hendricks and their respective spouses, and her nephews, Martti Eckert and Ryan Hendricks, and their respective spouses.
A date and time of a celebration of life for Barbara are still being determined.
