Mariam Rachel Bakele Ditiba Barandao Alidou

December 20, 1973 – April 22, 2024

On the night of April 22, 2024, we lost a radiant star - Mariam. She was a beloved pillar of our family, cherished as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, known for her boundless generosity and the vibrant spirit she brought to every gathering. 

Born in Togo, West Africa, Mariam, aka  Chouchou began her education at Marina Primary School and continued at College Protestant. She graduated from the University of Lomé and married her beloved husband, Coly K. Alidou, in 1997. In 2000, she moved to the United States to join him, and they were blessed with two children, Faith, and Kelvin. Mariam dedicated 20 years to her career at Sprint, now T-Mobile, and was the life of every party. She was known for being the loudest in the room, her laughter and energy were truly infectious. Mariam loved cooking, traveling, dancing, and especially, organizing gatherings where her spirit of joy was the most appreciated.  Mariam always placed the needs of others before her own, ensuring comfort and joy for those around her. Her generosity touched everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. 

Mariam’s legacy of warmth and exuberance lives on through her devoted husband, Kemal; her loving children, Faith, and Kelvin; and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As the family navigates this difficult time, we invite you to continue praying for them.

Prayers will be held at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, 80014, Friday, May 10 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm; with a formal Prayer Service beginning at 7:00pm.

A Graveside Service will follow at St. Simeon Cemetery, 22001 CO-30, Aurora, 80018; at 1:00pm.
