Augustine "Gus" Poell

April 1, 2016 — April 24, 2023

Augustine Charles Poell was born on April 1st, 2016 and entered in to Eternal Life on April 24th, 2023. His birth was welcomed by his parents and older brother Liam as well as so many family and friends who had waited and prayed for his arrival.

Gus loved life.  He enjoyed all the typical little boy things especially cooking and construction. He had or made a play kitchen everywhere he went. As he got older, construction became his “go to”. Instead of seeing an area of the yard that needed attention, Gus saw a job site for his tools and trucks. He lived the little boy dream of having a major construction site in hearing and walking distance the last three years.

His eyes were a captivating blue, his laugh and smile contagious. Everyone who knew him spoke of his kindness and willingness to consider others. He had the option to have his 7th birthday party at many places--he chose the one that was big enough to invite his entire first grade class.

Despite a four year age difference, Gus and his brother Liam were practically inseparable with unstoppable imaginations. Army, police, church, video games, building things, sports, and all things Star Wars and Lego were among their favorites.

Gus loved Jesus as only a child can. He was a force to be reckoned with and everyone who knew him knows he left this Earth way too soon. He will be missed beyond measure.

Gus is survived by his parents, Betsy and William, his brother Liam, grandparents Jack and Judy Pottle and Bill and Sue Poell. Uncles Bret Poell, Bill (Katie) Pottle, Curtis (Cecilia) Pottle, aunts Brenda (Garo) DomBourian and Rochelle (James) Kennedy. Cousins Zaven, Alene, Ari, Daniel, Christopher, Kyra, Adara, Kano, and Ailina. Gus is preceded in death by his sister Perpetua Grace.
