Audrey M. Hughes

Audrey Marie Hughes (Marie), age 94 passed away on February 21^st, 2024. She was a resident of Aurora Colorado for 36 years and formerly a resident of Biloxi Mississippi. Marie started life as an administrative clerk but after meeting the love of her life, settled down as a homemaker.

Audrey Marie (Illich) Hughes was born on August 5^th, 1929, to Mitchel Anthony Illich and Rena Marie (Viator) Illich in New Iberia Louisiana. On July 20^th, 1961, she married James Dudley Hughes Jr. in Biloxi Mississippi.

 Marie was proud of her family and enjoyed seeing them succeed. She enjoyed her Soap Operas and called them “her stories.”  Marie was a member of Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Biloxi High School. Marie followed her loving husband throughout his Air Force and civilian careers.  

She is survived by her son James (Jim); her grandchildren: Brandi, James, Charles, and Alejandra; and her great-grandchildren: Emma and Henry.  She was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim Jr.), her son, Charles, and her brother, Rene. 

Memorials in Marie’s name may be to the charity of the donor’s choice.
