Art Davis

October 2, 1938 — August 9, 2025

Golden

Arthur “Art” Davis of Golden, Colorado left this life to join his loving wife on August 9th, 2025. He lived a long and full life of 86 years, and died surrounded by friends and family. His wife Roberta had recently passed away and for that reason, his family believes he died of a broken heart.

He was born in Colorado on October 2nd, 1938 to Vida and Fred Davis. He was raised in Englewood with his two sisters, Leitha and Virginia. He married the love of his life, Roberta, on September 9th, 1960. Together, they raised 5 children; Randy (Karen) Davis, Rick (Kathy) Davis, Bob, Roy (Darla) Davis, and Christy (Kurt) Marrs. His family was his proudest accomplishment.

He was graced with an entrepreneurial spirit and could sell anything to anyone, sometimes without them even knowing. He fostered several successful businesses with his family, including Art’s Saddle Repair and Davis Tent and Awning at which he worked with his wife, his sons Roy and Rick, his daughter-in-Law Kathy, and his grandson Christopher.

He was a collector of everything antique and maintained a large collection of various leather working tools, sewing implements, western memorabilia, and most especially cars. He had a special affinity for Chevrolets and his favorite car was his ‘48 Fleetline, which was ‘all original’ down to the paint, just like him. He and Roberta were lifelong members of several vintage car clubs, including the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.

He was also a true sportsman and belonged to countless wildlife conservation, sporting, and hunting associations. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the National Rifle Association, Bighorn Sheep Society, the Blue Valley Sportsman Club, and many more.

He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta, his Daughter-in-Law Kathy, his Son-in-Law Kurt, and his beloved mule, Red. He is survived by sister Virginia, his 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Services are to be held on September 5th at 1pm at Horan and McConaty 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd Lakewood 80227.
