Arnold ""Arnie"" Block

Arnold ""Arnie"" Block, 74, of Commerce City, Colorado joined his late sweetheart Diane, on February 14, 2018. Arnold was born at his parent's home at Enemy Swim Lake in Waubay, South Dakota. He later moved with his family to Webster, South Dakota while in his teens. Arnold moved to Colorado in the early 1960s. Arnold met his wife Diane in Englewood, Colorado and married on June 17, 1965 in Webster, South Dakota. Arnold and Diane moved back to Colorado in the late 1960s where the purchased their lifelong home just on the outskirts of Commerce City, Colorado in December of 1969. They raised one son and two daughters in that home. Arnold started working at a young age. He worked in construction as a member of Ironworkers Local 24 most of his adult life being the sole provider for his family. His hobbies included doing auto body work, boating and fishing, designing and building heirloom quality furniture. He could build and/or fix anything to perfection. He also loved spending time with all of his family, friends and neighbors. Arnold is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Jean (Block) Pinkerton and her husband, Mike and Stephanie Marie (Block) Thiele and her husband, David; grandchildren, Jessica April Block, Jeffry Arnold Block, Jr., Amanda Jean Pinkerton and Joseph Edward Pinkerton; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynn Hemphill, Angeline Kay Hemphill and Jeffry Arnold Block, III; siblings, Floyd Block, Andy Block, Maxine Kickhafer, Joyce Stevenson and Nancy Klungseth; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Diane Lynn (Wood) Block; parents, Aleks N. Block and Barbara (Dargatz) Block; son, Jeffry Arnold Block; grandson, Jack Allen Williamson; and siblings, Ralph, Clara, Nickie, Norbert and Carol. Viewing will be on Friday, February 23, 2018, beginning at 11:30 AM, with Funeral Services honoring Arnold at 12:00 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton, Colorado 80229. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado. Pallbearers assisting include: Mike Pinkerton, Joey Pinkerton, Jeff Block, Alan Bistodeau, Lonnie Block and Rick Hosker, with David Thiele serving as an Honorary Pallbearer.
