Age of 78, passed peacefully in her home in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday August 17, 2021 from a strong & long fought battle with cancer.
She was born November 18, 1942 in New Britain, CT to the loving parents of Edward and Eleanor Neurath.
Proceeded in death by her loving husband Jerry Knutson being married nearly 52 years.
She had two children one daughter named Sheryl and one son named Rob, she had 5 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 2 great grandsons.
Her children; Sheryl Miller (Ron) Selah, WA & Rob Knutson (Becky) Denver, CO, and her Grandchildren, Christopher Miller (Kirstyn), Nicholas Miller (Tatiana), Ryan Miller, Alan Knutson-Garner (Jason), Gregory Knutson. Great Grandchildren, Andrea, Blake and Levi.
She grew up living in the projects with her many extended family members in New Britain and enjoying summers on the beach. Her heritage was a core value for her that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. In many ways such as cooking, pictures and the love of family and faith.
After her marriage to Jerry they moved to Colorado where she worked at First National Bank meeting their longtime friends who turned family. Together they enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping/boating, fishing, tailgating for the Denver Broncos and watching their children together. They bought their first house in 1965; where they remained for their lifetime together. As we all know it was not long before the neighbor became family as well; enjoying the same activities.
Then when she had her children, she left the bank to become a homemaker who was involved in all her children’s school, and other activities. Once they got a little older, she then had a few part time jobs; still allowing her to be classroom mom, girls scout leader, band mom, and more. Through her life she enjoyed many different activities including but not limited to: ice skating, crafting, scrap booking, playing her accordion, gardening, taking pictures, and being there to ensure everyone was taken care of.
She had a strong love of the ocean, beaches, eagles, lighthouses; however, nothing compared to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her Catholic faith was instilled in her like a light in a lighthouse; no matter what storm came her way or battle she knew that her faith would guide her through it. Her key phrase was,” Let Go, Let GOD”.
Our little stubborn, loving and caring Mom who never knew a stranger, could talk to anyone about anything. Her family & faith was her heart and soul and she was ours.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity or some of mom’s: St. Jude’s’ Hospital, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
