Antoinette Marie Lindsey, also known as “Toni”, and known by most as “Nana”, 86, of Canon City, CO passed away on August 13th, 2025 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO.
Antoinette was born June 7, 1939 in Monessen, PA. The daughter of the late James and Amelia (DiBacco) Pascarella, she was the middle child of five. She was preceded in death by brothers Jimmy Pascarella and Donald Pascarella and by sister Marlene Guzzie. She also was survived by her youngest brother, John Pascarella.
She graduated from Monessen High School in 1957. Soon after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, John Pappas Jr, together having four children before her second marriage.
She married Wilferd R. Lindsey Sr. in October of 1975. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2010.
She is “Mom” to five loving children: John Pappas, Dawn (Thomas) Johnson, Dianna Pappas (Don Jakovec), Anthony (Belinda) Pappas, and Rae Lindsey. This includes her seven step-children. She is known as “Nana” to her 28 grandchildren and more than 11 great grandchildren. She is known as “Aunt Toni” to her 12+ nieces and nephews.
Nana enjoyed attending all the grandchildren’s sporting events and shows. She was very devoted to her faith, attending mass on Sundays and praying her rosary every day. She also loved cooking for her family, especially traditional Italian dishes and sitting down for family dinner, and made sure everyone was fed no matter what. She enjoyed passing down all of her recipes through generations and she willingly shared anything she had in her cabinet, refrigerator, or freezer (even though it was most likely expired but in her words “It’s still good”). In the wintertime, she enjoyed cozying up to a good Hallmark Christmas movie. In the summertime, she enjoyed spending time outside with a glass of Carlo Rossi Rhine Wine, listening to Dean Martin (and anything she was able to put salt on).
Our family is at peace knowing that our beautiful Mother, caring Nana, and loving wife is now with the rest of the loved ones who have passed and most important, with God.
Rosary will be recited Friday, August 29, 2025, 11:30am, followed immediately by funeral mass at 12:10pm, Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Burial will be at 2pm that day at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area A.
