Anthony Richard Monaco

November 23, 1942 — August 29, 2017

Anthony Richard Monaco entered into rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 23, 1942 in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Ralph James Monaco and Mary Piteo Monaco. In addition to his wife Loreli Monaco, Anthony is survived by his brother Ralph (Melba) Monaco Jr. of North Haven Connecticut, nieces Lisa Monaco Gonzales and Andrea Monaco; Anthony was also a father to Kristin Eldridge, Anthony Trivedi, Christopher Trivedi, Jesse Griego, Kelley Griego and Danielle Griego; he was a loving Popop to 2 granddaughters. He attended the Notre Dame Catholic boys school in West Haven Connecticut and went on to study at Pennsylvania State University (PSU), where he earned a B.A. in Applied Arts and a minor in Architecture. During his time at Penn State, he was also an active brother in the Chi Phi Fraternity. Anthony then ventured to the west coast where he earned a M.A. in Graphic Design from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Anthony was a renaissance man, mastering any trade he chose to pursue. Not only was he an inspiring (and award winning) artist, he also ran his own business for over 30 years where he built and renovated over a hundred homes in the greater Denver area with his business partners Bill Huspeni and Arnie Malsom. Anthony was also a realtor, designer, marketer, photographer, and potter along with many other hidden talents with which he would surprise us. He also loved to travel and document his adventures through photography. Some of the highlights were a trek through India with long-time friend Bhartendu Trevedi, various trips throughout Europe and Asia with companion and wife Loreli, along with a memorable trip to Hawaii with his mother. Above all, Anthony was a kind, wise, and inspiring man who touched the lives of those with whom he shared his life. Anthony will always be remembered through the homes he designed and built, his evolving artwork, the miscellaneous projects he helped with, the countless discussions he had with friends and family, and of course through all of his handmade cards. His latest website can be found at www.armonaco.com. Please join family and friends for a memorial service, held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 2PM, located at Mile Hi Church, 9077 W Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226.
