Anita Mclaughlin

Anita Louise McLaughlin, 77, died peacefully at her home in Aurora, surrounded by family, on March 17, 2023.

Anita was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Carl and Irma Stein, on June 14, 1945. Anita met her future husband John McLaughlin while attending high school at Roger Bacon and they were married in 1966. The McLaughlins had the opportunity to live in several states in the Eastern US before settling in Colorado in 1985, where Anita held administrative positions at Aurora Public Schools for nearly 25 years. After retiring from work and a community of friends she loved in 2010, she passed her remaining years spending time with her children, beloved grandchildren, and friends.

Anita is survived by her four children Steven, Brian, Kevin (Michele), and David (Katie), and her eight grandchildren, Ean, Zach, Alex, Sarah, Bailey, John, Jane Louise, and Willow. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John, her sister Shirley, brother Victor, brother Allen, brother-in-law Dean, sister-in-law Gail, and sister-in-law Carol.

On March 30, 2023, Visitation will be held at 5:00PM at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014, with Rosary following at 6:00PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel, 19099 E Floyd Ave, Aurora, CO 80013, at 10:15AM on March 31, 2023, followed by burial at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80247. All are welcome.
