Our Mom, Gram, Nana, and Friend, Angie Rojo, age 93, went to meet our Lord and Savior on June 5, 2026 in Thornton, Colorado. Angie was the oldest of 14 siblings, and held all her brothers and sisters very dear to her heart. She loved school and everything about it, but had to drop out in the eighth grade to help take care of all her brothers and sisters. She was very proud when she went back and got her GED in 1979 and later got her real estate license. She sold real estate for about 20 years.
Angie met her husband, Gilbert Rojo, in Fort Lupton, Colorado in 1953. They married in 1954 and moved to Southern California in Dec. 1954, where they would go on to have three children, Deb, Gil and Jeannette. After almost 20 years in California, they wanted to get closer to home and their families and moved back to Colorado in 1973.
Angie enjoyed going to the Thornton Recreation Center for about 30 years. She was there daily and had made many friends there that were all very dear to her. She was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she also served on their food bank and the Widows group. She was an avid reader, liked to play bunco, and loved to gamble, especially with her children, husband, sisters, nieces, nephews, etc. She was always happy and loved to laugh.
Angie is survived by her daughter, Deb McCowen (Kerry) of Rapid City, South Dakota, and her son Gil Rojo (Jodi) of Mesquite Nevada. Grandchildren, Josh McCowen (Casey), Lubbock, Texas, Jai McCowen, Glendale, Colorado and Lee Manzanares, Thornton, Colorado. She also has 3 great grandsons, Kyle McCowen, Darrius Martel and Donavan Martel, that she held very close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Rojo in January, 2019, her granddaughter, Lynnette Manzanares in February, 2024, and finally her daughter, Jeannette Rojo Granville in July, 2025 as well as many of her siblings.
