Angela Mary Loomis, 93, of Greeley and formerly of Thornton, died peacefully at her home in Greeley on November 14, 2014. Born October 12, 1921 in Leadville, Colorado to Anton and Mary Novak, Angela was the youngest daughter of 11 children. She graduated from Leadville High School. With the advent of WWII, she and her sisters worked at the Remington Arms Plant making bullets for the war effort. After the war she and a close friend went to Washington, D.C. and worked at the Pentagon. She returned to Colorado and worked as a secretary for Amick Transfer & Storage. On August 23, 1953, Angela married Max Perry Loomis of Denver. They moved to the new suburb of Thornton as some of the first residents. In fact, they received the keys to their new home on the day their first daughter, Deborah, was born. Their second daughter, Cheryl, was born five years later. Angela was a ""stay-at-home"" mom and housewife until 1973 when she started as a cashier at the Northglenn Fashion Bar, and worked ther until retirement in the mid-1980's. Angela was a active in the elementary PTA, Girl Scouts, and regularly attended Thornton Holy Cross Catholic Church. After retirement, Angela and Max were active participants in the Thornton Senior Center. The couple also volunteered with the Thornton Middle School's students needing tutorial help with reading and math. Angela will be remebered for her love of family and freinds, but particularly for her great love for her 5 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She travelled extensively throughout the US and parts of the world with Max. The couple had a particular passion for gambling on slot machines after Max ""hit it big"" in Las Vegas. Angela and Max resided in their original Thornton home until 2007 when they moved closer to both girls and their families in Greeley, Colorado. The couple resided at Fox Run Senior Living and 2 months later, Max passed away. In 2010, Angela moved to Sterling House Assisted Living, where she happily stayed throughout her last days. Suvivors include: Deborah (Daniel) Augenstein and Cheryl Douglas. Five grandchildren: Sarah Burnett, Jacob (Vanessa) Augenstein, Justin (Aubrey) Augenstein, Natalie Douglas and Hunter Douglas. Seven great grandchildren: Caden, Eslie, Owen, Quentin, Bridger, Crosby, and Jett. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband Max, and her 10 siblings, and many extended family and friends. In the words of this beloved woman, ""Do what you've got to do and do it well!""
