Amya Aubrielle Addams, a beloved member of our community, passed away on May 3, 2024. Born on September 28, 1989, Amya's life was a beacon of inspiration and love for many.
To her community, she was an icon and a blueprint for countless girls like her, especially for POC trans women. Her influence and presence were legendary, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
To her close friends, Amya was the sister many of us never had. Her loyalty and boundless love were a testament to the strength of her character and the depth of her friendships.
To her family, Amya was their baby girl and baby sister, the glue that held them together. Her love and dedication to her family were unwavering, and her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her.
Amya was a fashion icon, admired not only for her style but also for her ability to inspire confidence and self-expression in others. She was also known for her culinary talents, creating amazing and unforgettable meals that brought joy and comfort to those around her.
She is survived by her mother Ana Baron, her stepfather Clif Baron, her sister, Amy Patterson, and her brother, Jason Boley, among countless friends both near and far.
A Celebration of Life for Amya Addams will be held at X Bar Denver, where her iconic fashions, songs, and her love of community will be celebrated. Join us on Monday, May 20th, 2024, at 629 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80203, from 8-10 PM. We welcome everyone to remember the joy, love, passion, and friendship she brought to her LGBTQAI+ community.
A memorial visitation service will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122, from 5-8 PM. Visitors are welcome to come and go as they please. Help us fill the place with black carnation flowers, which we know she'd love. Most florists are willing to dye them if asked.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that all donations be sent in Amya's name to Rainbow Alley Youth Charity. Rainbow Alley is a safe, brave space where LGBTQAI+ youth (ages 10-17) and their allies find support and acceptance https://lgbtqcolorado.org/support/give/thanks-for-your-support/
Amya's legacy of love, strength, and style will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
