Amber M. Macedonia (née Mahuron), beloved daughter, sister, wife, auntie and stepmom, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026 in Englewood, Colorado. She was born on April 20, 1977 in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Amber moved to Denver area when she was a few months old. She grew up in Arvada and attended Arvada area schools, graduating from Pomona High School in 1995.
Amber found joy in the simple things…crocheting, snowy days (especially at Christmas time), relaxing in hot springs, camping, card games, bingo, bowling, lazy river rides, road trips, trips to Dairy Queen, Taco Bell and Dutch Bros, her favorite color purple, and watching Friends (her favorite TV series). She had a way of turning ordinary moments into something special and those who knew her will always remember the comfort and happiness she brought into their lives. Her creativity was one of her many gifts. She loved crafting and could turn simple materials into something meaningful often sharing her creations with those she loved…leaving behind handmade pieces that will be cherished by family and friends.
Her life’s work was centered around children through her daycare, her role as a para professional in schools and as a devoted nanny to five children. She also regularly traveled to Rifle, Colorado to work and spend time with family. In every role she held, she touched countless lives offering guidance, patience and unconditional care and love that left a lasting imprint on every person she met.
Amber is survived by a host of family which includes her devoted husband, Joe Macedonia; parents, Don and Debbie Mahuron of Arvada, CO; sisters, Angela Thomas of Arvada, CO and Krista Mahuron of Westminster, CO; stepchildren, TJ Macedonia of Arvada, CO and Bree Macedonia of Denver, CO; and niece, Nova Thomas and great niece, Londyn King both of Westminster; as well as many wonderful friends and children that she cherished.
Celebration of Life will be held at an event center located at 4709 Lipan Street, Denver, CO from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
In honor of her love for children, the family asks that in place of flowers and gifts, donations be made to a children’s charity of your choice. Those wishing to support the family directly may do so via Venmo (@Krista-Mahuron).
In honoring her wishes, we remember her not with sadness, but with gratitude for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the beautiful life she lived. Her story doesn’t end here; it lives on in all of us.
