Alvina “Ann” Engel, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 at the age of 86 in Littleton, CO.

She was born on October 21, 1936 in Loretta, KS to Alois G. and Mary Basgall. She married Franklin D. Engel on September 28, 1957 in Loretta, KS. They moved to Ft Sumter, S. Carolina while Frank served in the United States Air Force.  In 1962, they moved to Denver, CO.

Ann was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing music on the organ and loved a good game of cards. She enjoyed making her delicious fudge for family and friends during the holidays and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She will be dearly missed.

Ann spent most of her adult life with Frank raising their family in Englewood, CO.  In 1991, they moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ to enjoy sunshine, golf and retirement with friends.  During her retirement, she enjoyed many afternoons at the nickel slot machines in Laughlin, NV just a short drive from their home. She moved back to Colorado with her children after her beloved husband passed away on May 20, 2013.

She is survived by her three children: son, Michael Engel, daughter Cynthia (Floyd) Teiffel, and daughter Debra (John) Lister all located in Littleton, CO.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chad and Jessi Engel, Jeff (Emily) Teiffel, Nicole (Nate) Dolan, Teresa, Alec and Abby Lister, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Franklin Engel, five brothers, Bernard Basgall, Tony Basgall, Al Basgall, Victor Basgall, AA Herman; and four sisters, Sister Rita Basgall ASC, Sister Agnes Claire Basgall ASC, Esther Smith and Mildred Brungardt.

Private Family Memorial Services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in March.
