Alice E. Rutkoskie

October 5, 1924 — November 26, 2014

Alice Elizabeth Rutkoskie, 90, of Centennial, Colorado, died on November 26, 2014 after a long illness. She was born in Indiana on October 5, 1924 to Gladys Hamilton Richards and William Arlis Richards. She did her undergraduate work at Ball State University and her graduate work at Indiana University. After a brief career teaching high school, she taught business communication at Ohio University. After moving to Athens, Ohio, she met and married George F. Rutkoskie. She was a passionate, dedicated teacher who published a book on technical writing and who retired after 37 years at OU. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, knitting, and volunteering. She is preceded in death by her husband, George F. Rutkoskie; her siblings: Laura French, Mary Estelyn Richards, and Thomas A. Richards. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sue Richards of Centennial, Colorado; and her nieces and nephews: Karen French of Muncie, Indiana, Charles French of Muncie, Indiana, Mary Ellen Cooper of Indianapolis, Indiana, Linda Richards of Centennial, Colorado, Ann Richards of Centennial, Colorado, William Richards of Rochester Michigan, and Thomas Richards of Livingston, Montana. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice or the Littleton United Methodist Church. Alice was cremated and her ashes buried next to her parents and her sister in Connersville, Indiana. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014, 9:00am, at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S Datura Street, Littleton, 80120.
